‘We Never Give Up’: Hardik Pandya Shares An Uplifting Message After MI’s Loss To RR In IPL 2024

In the latest match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, Mumbai Indians (MI) suffered their third consecutive defeat, losing to Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 1 (Monday). Since taking on the role of Mumbai Indians skipper, Hardik has not been able to secure a single victory for his team.

RR delivered a clinical performance, securing their third consecutive victory in IPL 2024 by defeating MI by six wickets. With Yuzvendra Chahal’s impressive bowling performance (3/11) and Trent Boult’s contribution (3/22) for RR, MI could only manage to score 125/9. In response, Riyan Parag played a stellar innings, remaining unbeaten on 54, guiding Rajasthan Royals to the top spot in the IPL points table.

Although he showcased promising form with the bat against the Royals, Hardik Pandya couldn’t capitalise on his brief innings to produce a substantial score. With Mumbai Indians enduring another loss in the current campaign, Hardik turned to social media to share an uplifting message.

In a message on X (formerly Twitter), the Mumbai Indians skipper said: “If there’s one thing you should know about this team, we never give up. We’ll keep fighting, we’ll keep going.”

Here’s What Hardik Pandya Posted:

Since taking over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya has faced criticism from fans and encountered hostility from the crowds in recent matches.

“I Needed To Do A Lot More” Says Pandya

During the post-match presentation following the defeat to Rajasthan Royals, Hardik Pandya acknowledged that despite being in a decent position to reach a score of 150-160 after the initial wickets fell, his own dismissal cost them that opportunity. He said that he needed to contribute more to the team’s performance.

“I wanted to counter, we were in a decent position to get us around 150-160, but my wicket allowed them to get back more into the game, I needed to do a lot more,” said Pandya.
